Faraday Pouches for Car Keys: What Works — and What Fails

A good Faraday pouch blocks your key fob’s wireless signal. But quality matters, £5 Amazon pouches often fail within weeks because the shield lining wears out quickly and/or has poor shield lining. Always test them. The pouch must close/fold fully without gaps. Even on good Faraday pouches the shield lining wears and/or gaps on the close/fold appear – best practice is to replace then annually, or test regularly if over a year old. Testing is simple and quick.

Brands reported to have good shielding include Disklabs, Defender, Mission Darkness (typically £10–£15).
